I wanted to do something different for Justin and Ben’s wedding post. We always get asked in meetings weather or not a couple should do a first look or not and though personally I love a good first look, it’s also not our wedding. All I ever want to do is give everyone the pros and cons to both. We always encourage brides to talk with their friends who have recently gotten married. Justin and Ben wanted to keep it traditional and not see each other before, and you know what? It was perfect. After the ceremony they allotted a while for us to take plenty of portraits. It wasn’t rushed, they were completely in the moment, and we had a great time. But how could you not with a gorgeous couple and an amazing backdrop like Marlsgate to play around in? So today I wanted to focus to their portraits to show you that no matter how you do it, as long you give yourself time, you will get amazing results.
Sometimes it doesn’t take much for you to know that you’re going to have a great time with someone. That’s how it was with Tracy and Will. They’re both so laid back and fun, just my kind of people. For part of their session we opted to get a bit of the last greenery that was still hanging on from summer and headed to the city. It was such a wonderful day, the weather was actually cooperating (unlike now haha) and these two made shooting their engagement session a breeze. Im also really excited to capture the second part of their session at Will’s restaurant. Will is one of the owners of Gus’s Fried Chicken in downtown. If you haven’t been there, you’re really missing out and you should definitely try it…. like right now. Of course since it’s always full in there we have to wait for the perfect day but I promise to keep you guys posted! For now enjoy just a few of my favorites from part one.
I’m just going to start by saying that we really love what we do and not a day goes by that we don’t thank our lucky stars for having such incredible clients. While we were in Colorado recently photographing a gorgeous wedding, we were also able to meet up with Savana and Joe at the Red Rocks to do an amazing portrait session. I cannot stress enough how much we love Colorado (if you’re getting married there we should talk!) I wish I would have had countless days and time to photograph everything but I’m thankful to have had at least an hour with these two awesome people exploring a little corner of Denver.
Is October really almost a year away? That’s about how long it will be before this gorgeous couple ties the knot but at least we have these awesome engagement photos to keep us tied over until then.
Wow! Where did all the warm weather go? I figured with this new change in climate it’s only appropriate we celebrate with a slightly snowy and gorgeous Colorado wedding. When I first spoke with Amanda and Brandon it was clear to me that photographing their wedding in Denver was going to be an amazing experience. I am still so over the moon with gratitude and excitement that they chose to bring us along. As soon as we arrived in town I was in love with Colorado. It’s truly one of my favorite places I’ve had the pleasure of traveling to. Their entire day was a blast! Starting with the first look. Just a few minutes in and it started snowing. It came down like a huge wave of white fluff. We were all shocked and laughing hysterically but managed to get a few awesome photos. The entire day was filled with a lightheartedness that I think people forget about sometimes on their wedding day. Yes, your wedding is one of the major milestones in your lives but it’s also a celebration of your love, families, and friends and that definitely wasn’t forgotten that day.

Thank you so much for loving what we do and for allowing us to be a part of your wedding adventure. We can’t thank you enough for all the little things like the thank you cards, brunch at Lucille’s, and even for making me a believer in delicious vegetarian meals haha. We wish you nothing but the best!
Our clients make our jobs so ridiculously easy. Case in point, Barbara and Greg. Not only are they gorgeous but they were so much fun and excited throughout the day. For their session we headed to Heiffer Project in downtown Little Rock. And even though it started off really windy, we found the best little places to sneak away to. All the beautiful fall colors combined with these two good looking kids, couldn’t have been better!
